It was a pleasure to host you and to able to create a platform for leaders and experts like you to come together to discuss current trends and future of Internal Medicine in India. For the first time in India, we immersed ourselves in understanding current trends of India’s healthcare industry and the challenges that patients face on a day-to-day basis and how to address and improve the quality of healthcare.
The first ACP India Chapter Congress which was held from April 1-3, 2016 in Mumbai, India had approximately 450 physicians were in attendance. Wayne J. Riley, MD, MPH, MBA, MACP, ACP President, and Tanveer P. Mir, MD, MACP, Chair, ACP Board of Regents both presented at this meeting. Several ACP members from the U.S. also presented at the meeting including, Sanjeev Arora, MD, MACP, Sanjiv Chopra, MD,MACP, George Abraham, MD, MPH, FACP, Debasish Dasgupta, MD, FACP, and Vijay Rajput, MD, FACP.
Many renowned physicians from India also presented on various topics. The Congress was a wonderful platform that gave many Residents and Fellow-in-training an opportunity to present their abstracts and e-posters to a very august gathering. All participants were given certificates by Dr. Riley and Dr. Mir and winners in each session took home cash prizes.
