About the India Chapter

The American College of Physicians (ACP) is the largest organization of internists - physician specialists who apply scientific knowledge and clinical expertise to the diagnosis, treatment, and compassionate care of adults across the spectrum from health to complex illness. The ACP India Chapter was inaugurated in January 2015 as the 16th ACP International Chapter. The India Chapter through its activities and engagement will help ACP achieve its mission which is to enhance the quality and effectiveness of healthcare by fostering excellence and professionalism in the practice of internal medicine.

ACP has international presence through its chapters in Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, Caribbean, Central America, Chile, Columbia, Gulf, Japan, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Southeast Asia and Venezuela. ACP has more than 148,000 members across the world with over 13,000 members residing outside of United States. ACP is focused on advancing the science through its publications, in particular the Annals of Internal Medicine, setting clinical standards, advocacy efforts for better healthcare in the U.S., educational programs such as meetings at the national and chapter levels, web and print based materials, in particular, the Medical Knowledge Self-Assessment Program (MKSAP).
